Among the events organised by Progettoarte-Elm gallery in Milan, the exhibition "Monads and Numbers" by Marco Gastini, edited by Bruno Corà, is being to be opened on May 18th at 6.30pm in the exhibiting spaceslocated at Via Fusetti 14 in Milan.

 After the significant presence of Gastini works in many events in Bologna and in retrospective exhibitions at the Modena Art Museum – MAMbo in Palazzo Pepoli at Campo Grande, the Turin's artist will exhibit in Milan with a group of works, dating form 2009 to 2012, which develop the subject of pictorial-plastic "Counterpoints" withrespect to the space.

Gastini's experience is very original; it has reached a linguistic maturity bearing with it the results and the innovations of entire cycles of works conceived and established over the past fifty years.

If the main thought in Gastini's works is space, meant to be the result of tensions coming from the "attraction and repulsion between a sign and the other" (Gastini), in his most recent works the prismatic pictorial treatment of the monochrome-filled background, the splashes and the dissemination on the surface of the canvas and on the paper of dots and linear segment define a perceptively instable spatiality which is ideally expanding.
 
On the occasion of this exhibition a catalogue will be published containing the pictures of the exhibited works, a critical essay by Bruno Corà and the bibliographical documents with the updated activity of the Turin's Maestro.
